I believe in blogs.
This blog has been good for me. It has helped me a lot to communicate what I do at the winery, what I think aboout the wine business, and above all, to meet a lot of interesting people that share the same passion: wine & food.
Now that I’ve organised this event in New York, (starting next Monday November 5th, until the 9th), I think that I believe in blogs more than ever. I’ve had blog help all the way, from inspiration, to support to practical solutions.
Blogs can be very helpful for us growers (olive trees and vines) and chefs - the TASTE-MAKERS, as we’ve called ourselves for this event- to talk about Maremma and its wine and food and to import that knowledge and love of the area into the USA (which we need to do).
“I will be glad to offer dinner for two, at any one of the ”Five Days to Taste Maremma” dinners I’m hosting, to the first 5 wine and food bloggers that send me an email to this address info@poggioargentiera.com or post a comment here including a link to their blogs.
All I ask is that you have mantained a blog about wine and/or food, in the USA , for at least 6 months and that it is regularly updated (at least once a week).”
You can choose one of the 5 dinners where Poggio Argentiera, i.e. me, will be present in one of the following restaurants in Manhattan. What you’ll get is a special menu made by arguably the best chefs of Tuscany’s Maremma, who will be cooking in five of the most renowned Italian restaurants in Manhattan. To go with the menu you’ll have up to 6 different wines, served and explained to you by two Maremma winemakers (myself and Marco Salustri) .
Poggio Argentiera, along with one of the best Montecucco wineries, Salustri ,will be pouring their wines at these dates:
- Monday Nov. 5th. @ San Domenico Restaurant - guest chef from Maremma: Francesco Bracali (with Luca Bracali, Fabio Rita, Gioele Piccioni, Koizumi Norio, Frosini Nadia), from “Bracali“
- Tuesday Nov. 6th @ Le Cirque Restaurant - guest chef from Maremma: Andrea Menichetti (with Irene Carletti and Alessio Biagi), from “da Caino“
- Wednesday Nov 7th @ Osteria del Circo Restaurant - guest chef from Maremma: Luciano Zazzeri (with Bianchi Franca
Naoi Taisuke) from “La Pineta“
- Thursday Nov 8th @ Maremma Restaurant - guest chef from Maremma: Umberto Amato (with Benedetto e Danilo Amato) from “La Fontanina“
- Friday Nov 9th @ Del Posto Restaurant - guest chef from Maremma: Antonio Guida (with Federico Dell’Omarino
Fabrizio Borraccino) from “il Pellicano“
During the first three nights (5th - 7th), there will be a special guest that will join Poggio Argentiera, the enologist Luca D’Attoma.
If you would like to talk to the Italian chefs, enologists, or any of the other wineries, then we can be happily arranged for you.
