What a convivial party of wine-friends met last night! The Somerset Wine Tasting Group has a little bash every couple of months, in the Vicars’ Hall in Wells, and we presented some of the wines there. Once again, Maremma, mostly unheard of, (even amongst this group of 50 or so wine worshippers), surprised all and delighted some.

Once again, we understood the relative obscurity of Maremma outside Italy, but, 50 down, couple of billion ro so to go. It’s a start. And again, little old Lalicante, ooooh don’tcha just love it, gave everyone something memorable with which to round off the evening.
